Launch Alaska is looking to invest in 4-6 companies in the spring of 2019 who are building world-changing technologies in energy and transportation. In their two program tracks; CUSTOMER DEVELOPMENT TRACK and DEMONSTRATION TRACK they’re offering:
  • $75k in funding (Customer Development Track)
  • Up to $1 Million in non-dilutive funding (Demonstration Track)
  • Mentorship
  • Technical assistance
  • Introductions to customers, investors, corporates, and other strategic partners
  • Co-working space
Pakistan has become an attractive emerging wind market. With a sizable share of over 1200 MW, the market is moving from initial development towards maturity. The market is well on its way to install 400 MW of wind power during the current year which is a record in the country. Against that backdrop, Ernest & Young has ranked Pakistan as 26th most attractive renewable energy market in the world. The Government of Pakistan is organising auctions for 1200 MW of renewable energy soon. The draft new policy talks about a share of 20% for renewables in the energy mix of Pakistan in the near future.   •   Share

Egypt Could Meet More than 50% of its Electricity Demand with Renewable Energy

Energy experts have stressed the need to implement 18th constitutional amendment for harnessing renewable energy resources to meet growing energy needs in Pakistan without aggravating climate change concerns. They were speaking at the “National Renewable Energy Dialogue” organised by the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) in collaboration with Heinrich Boell Stiftung (HBS) here on Wednesday.   •   Share
